Weekly mindful yoga classes encourage people to adopt the tools of Yoga into their lives daily. Even a brief regular encounter with the deeper practices of Yoga will enrich a person’s life giving it greater purpose and meaning. A shift in how we think, feel and move, refreshed weekly helps us to master all areas of our lives,  Join us in simmering yourself in Yoga’s deeper meaning in a well established spiritual community right here in Nanaimo.

The first session in this series will concentrate on the Yamas. The YAMAS are our attitude towards the environment. Over the seven weeks we will explore these attitudes in class to understand how we can apply them constructively in our daily lives. In each class you will experience the state of Yoga through a well structured, classically constructed format which sequences the poses intelligently as well as includes breathing and concentration practices leading to deep relaxation and meditation. Every class has a Yoga Nidra session, which is a deeply purifying and relaxing  practice.

1. AHIMSA: Non Harming

Yoga is the ability to direct the mind without distraction or interruption. Such a process is beneficial to all people wanting to live a balanced and focused life. Patanjal’is Yoga Sutras is exceptionally open which is what makes it universally acceptable. It is profound and accessible, God is neither rejected nor forced on anyone, the perspective is agreeable to all faiths. The process is easy to experience and also easily comprehended.  Daily living becomes smoother.
