June Lakeside Program of Spirituality Beyond Borders
Webcast and Additional Program Featuring Paula D’Arcy and Richard Rohr
Hosted by Andrew Twiddy, Pearl Gervais, Remi de Roo ~ held in the quiet beauty of a forested lakeside environment.
Paula D’Arcy, a writer, retreat leader, and conference and seminar speaker, travels widely in the United States, Canada, and abroad. She is also President of Red Bird Foundation, which supports the growth and spiritual development of those in need as well as those invested in the opening of the heart and the healing of this world.
A former psychotherapist who ministered to those facing issues of grief and loss, Paula worked with the Peale Foundation, founded by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, from 1980 until his death in 1993, and has written ten books. Today her work includes leading workshops and retreats related to spirituality, writing, women’s gatherings,( including Women’s Initiation and Rites of Passage), and creating venues where men and women experience an opening of the heart and a change in their way of being in the world. In recent years she has teamed with Richard Rohr to present seminars on the Male/Female Journey and Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life.
Richard Rohr is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province. He is the founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation and academic dean of the CAC’s Living School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. An internationally recognized author and spiritual leader, Fr. Richard teaches primarily on incarnational mysticism, non dual consciousness, and contemplation, with a particular emphasis on how these affect the social justice issues of our time.
Both Richard and Paula believe that we can bring clarity to our personal journey and to our participation in communities of faith by an understanding and distinguishing between the tasks of the two halves of life. Much of institutional religion is concerned with the tasks of the first half of life. The need for adults is to move on to the tasks of the second half of life, which are much closer to the concerns of Jesus, Buddha and the mystics of all religions. Prepare for both stages to affirm and challenge you, and also recognize the immense implications for raising children. Andrew will be your facilitator and host for discussion, elaboration of the theme, and supportive contemplative practice.
The Program start time is 4:00 on June 10, 2018, and will finish at 12:30 on June 12, 2018.
