bendictine, deeper self, hospitality, nourishment

Please join us for a day of quiet prayer and reflection as we consider the theme of Hospitality.

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

In his Rule Benedict often quotes from the gospel showing how the Rule is rooted firmly in the heart of the gospel.

September is a good time to take a day, after the lazy, hazy, (often busy) days of summer, to drop down into a deeper space of self. Welcoming the stranger applies to our own being as well as to the other. Quiet and time allow us find that place, to be nourished, and in turn be a nourishing presence to others.
